Benjamin

Benjamin is such a joy! He brings so much happiness to our life! I love being able to stay home with him!

Benjamin loves it when I sing to him. Often I'll put him in his seat or high chair and sing to him while I wash dishes. If I look at him for a minute while I'm doing it - he gives me a big smile!

He is happy to sit and play with toys so I can fold laundry!

He has started pushing himself up a lot more when he's on his stomach - which means when he wakes up in the morning, he can now look over his bumper pads and see me. Several mornings I've woken up and seen this little happy face looking at me!

Benjamin's First Trip to the Zoo!

Benjamin and I tagged along on a field trip with the school where I used to teach. We enjoyed it - even if Benjamin was a little young to really appreciate it and fell asleep for half of it! =)

We got to see a cougar, tigers, lemurs, macaws, llamas, reindeer, and emus.

Afternoon at the park...

We had such a lovely weekend here, we just had to get out and enjoy it. We went to a park by the water, to spend some time just relaxing.



Benjamin had a great time trying out a teething biscuit....

And playing with his toes....

Until he finally had to take a snooze....and mom and dad did a little reading...

But soon he was up and ready to go again!

It was a fun, relaxing afternoon! I'm looking forward to doing it again soon!

Scheduling...

I've been rearranging my daily schedule around to leave me time in the afternoon for a daily project time, each day working on something different. Mondays I have been trying to do some baking and/or cooking for the freezer. Tuesdays I have time for sewing or a craft project. Wednesday is my day to go to the library to use the internet, and I try to save errands for Thursdays. On Friday my goal is to be able to have free time to do something fun. As the weather continues to be nice, I hope to be able to use this time to go to the park or something like that. I'll be able to do more fun things on Fridays in the future when Benjamin is old enough to enjoy more things, but I'm trying to make it a habit now, so hopefully it will continue later.

I had originally had my project/errand time in the morning, but I've found that between having to get ready in the morning, Benjamin's eating times, and Seth's lunch break, I have more time in the afternoon. I'm hoping that by giving each day a specific project, I'll be more intentional in the things I do and thus be able to accomplish more!

Six Months..

I really can't believe it, but in just a few days Benjamin will be six months old! He is such a happy, easygoing baby and is such a joy to us! It has been so much fun to see him grow and develop - he is almost sitting totally on his own now and seems so grown up!

A chair pad for the back of Benjamin's high chair. I had draped a blanket over the back, because I didn't want him to throw his head back and hurt it, but it would always fall off. With a little inspiration; fabric, batting and ribbon scraps; and a few minutes of time, I have a much more secure (and cute) solution!

All made from my fabric stash, which means...less fabric to store and new things for free! That makes me happy! =)
