When the price is right...

I was out shopping for a baby gift today, and was browsing the clearance racks when I found toddler jackets on clearance for $2.24! I bought 6 of them, one of each size from 18 months up to 5T. I'll put these away and they'll come in handy as Benjamin grows! I got all 6 of them for well under the original price of 2! I was very happy with that find! =)

Storage

With a one-bedroom apartment, an already full dresser and no room for another, we had to get a little creative with how we store Benjamin's things.

Can I just say I love Ikea?

We got two basket-drawer organizers, which fit perfectly on either side of the bookshelf. I took advantage of my love of baskets and got a few to hang on the wall, as well as one for the floor to hold blankets.

My mother-in-law came up with the great idea to drill a hole in his bathtub and put a string through it so it could hang. It works perfectly!

I am hoping to eventually store things under his crib, but the sides are so low that it's difficult to find boxes that will fit, but I'm on the lookout!

We could fit one more under-the-bed storage container under our bed, so I got one to hold the clothes he's outgrown.

So far these solutions are working!

Hoh Rain Forest

Seth had Monday off from work, so we decided to go on an adventure and visit the Hoh Rain Forest, since neither of us had been there. It ended up being quite a long trip - we left at 8:30 in the morning and didn't get home until 11 at night, but it was fun! Benjamin did really well - he just slept in the car all day, and he still slept at night when we got home!

The rain forest was pretty cool, although we didn't get to go all the way in - the road was closed about halfway in. But we enjoyed what we could!

Growing...

So my little munchkin had his two-month check-up yesterday. He's up to a whopping 24 1/4 inches and 14 pounds, 7 ounces! He has grown so fast!

We're having so much fun with him!

Daily Schedule

In an attempt to better organize myself and accomplish everything I need to during the day, I came up with a daily schedule for myself. Now I've never been one to stick to a strict schedule - like, at 9:30 I brush my teeth, at 9:35 I take a shower, that sort of thing, so this isn't anything like that. Rather, it's an outline for my day, a rough schedule that is flexible, but helps give me a general rhythm for each day. I've been doing this for a week or so and it has really been working for me.

6:30 – Wake up
Walk
7:30 – Feed Benjamin
Laundry started
Shower, dress
Breakfast
Devotions
10:00 – Feed Benjamin
Errands (or projects)
12:30 – Feed Benjamin
Lunch
Laundry
Cleaning (dishes, daily jobs)
3:00 – Feed Benjamin
Cleaning (weekly cleaning jobs)
Projects
Start Dinner
5:30 – Feed Benjamin
Dinner
8:00 – Feed Benjamin
Family time
10:30 – Feed Benjamin
Bed

I don't have Benjamin on a strict schedule, so feeding times can vary (although they're generally around there somewhere), but like I said, the general rhythm of each day stays the same, which is really helpful to me.

Smiles

Benjamin started smiling the week of Christmas, and we love it! We'll do almost anything to get a smile! I haven't really been able to get any really good pictures, but I'll keep trying! =)
